Sometimes You Don't Need to Know

I really don't know why I look at the workouts before going to the gym because they aren't encouraging. What I usually see is a technique we're working on and then some crazy list of activities that's supposed to be done in thirty minutes. The worse part is I've usually done all the listed exercises before but when the thought of doing it together, my body is anticipating the pain.

Yesterday we worked on squat snatches. I wrote about them before in my blog "Over my head" so at least I had some kind of reference mentally when we were trying to get our PR (personal record). I didn't go over 45 pounds and used the training bar which is 15 pounds. There's no shame in my game;)

Everything was lowkey until the workout hit.

0-5 minutes- 400 meter run

10 squat snatches

max effort wall climbs

5-10 minutes- 400 meter run

9 squat snatches

max effort devil presses

10-15 minutes- 400 meter run

8 power or squat snatches

max effort wall climbs

15-20 minutes- 400 meter run

7 power or squat snatches

max effort devil presses

The run alone left me catching my breath, flinging the bar over head took so much strength and then using noddle arms to either walk myself up a wall or do a weighted burpee was taxing. It takes so much mental strength to keep going that maybe not knowing the workout before hand would of be much better.

This reminds me of the story of Joseph in the Genesis 37. God gives Joseph a dream that he is going to be over his brothers. Fortunately for Joseph, God never tells him how he's going to get to that position. He didn't let Joseph know he would be sold into slavery or accused of a crime or put in jail and left there. If he knew, would he still want the dream God gave him?

I usually complain about not knowing how God is going to help me accomplish my dreams but I don't need to know because however I'm going to get there, He will help me along the way. Plus, like this crazy workout, He's building resilience so I can effectively carry out the plans He has for me. Sometimes I don't need to know what's next;)
