Right Place, Right Time

I started a free trial with a virtual personal trainer and I’m excited because it’s mostly lifting. Who doesn’t love lifting? Well, maybe my CrossFit friend Kirk! I’m excited because Coach Carloyn is a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute which is a place I’m going to next year to get the hands-on personal training experience I need not just to be certified but to be qualified. She has her own app that allows me to view my workouts with video demonstrations, keep track of my food, links to my watch so it can view my sleep habits, allows me to communicate with her and so much more! The more I see, the exhilarated I become. That will be me one day with my own clients and my own app (Insert shrieks and a happy dance here)!

Unfortunately, part of me feels like I’m cheating on my Legion of Power CrossFit gym. Don't get me wrong, I’m already counting the days when I will be throwing around a bar, most likely running and gasping for air or as I like to call, “dying and resurrecting”. That’s my place and my people!

I also feel like I’m cheating on my church, The Rock. Two weeks ago I visited a church called Impact Church. It so happened that they released their first single that day called “He is a Miracle” and though I got a free t-shirt and picture, it was exactly what I needed to hear as the song is about seeking after Jesus and Jesus alone. This is the quest that I’m on. Last week, I visited another church (Dream City) and during worship I just wept. I might not be at my home church but this season of life has lead me to places that prepare me for where I’m going. There’s a verse in the Bible that says God goes before you.

Deuteronomy 1:33

Who goes before you on your way, to seek out a place for you to encamp, in fire by night and cloud by day, to show you the way in which you should go.

Of course, this verse is referring to Moses telling the Israelites how they didn’t trust God even though He guided them to where they needed to go. For me, it’s a reminder that I CAN trust God to show me what I need when I need it. He’s that amazing!

Well… I might not be flinging a bar over head at the gym or being at one location every Sunday or Saturday but I’m right where I’m supposed to be: pumped up about my future career (while resting my knees) and allowing God to bless me with His presence.
