CrossFit is its own beast. There’s bars and moves that require kipping because there’s so many reps. Don’t forget all the gymnastic moves! Lately, I’ve been craving fitness class. Our fitness class uses dumbbells, wall balls, the box, slam balls, the pull up bar and other equipment. There’s so many variations within the workout because it’s kind of like a beginner’s class. It focuses on fundamental movement and builds confidence for an easy transition into CrossFit. Muscles grow and hearts learn to pump blood fast so the body gets what it needs during a high intensity workout.
Revelation 2:4-5 “But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches."
In Revelation, Jesus tells a church to return to their first love. Being a Christian is being in relationship with your Creator and sometimes that can get mundane where you’re just going through the motions wondering why you started the relationship in the first place. The people in Revelation grew complacent and their hearts weren’t in it so they were instructed to remember the love God has for them which caused them to fall in love with Him. Fan that flame! Do what first got you to that place of loving Him with an intense love.
I have been complacent with CrossFit. I’ve been avoiding doing hard workouts and huffing and puffing at the slightest raise of the heart. Oh, I’m pretty busy but have been making excuses on why I can’t fit it into my day. I have to go back to my first love: fitness class. It was in the fitness class where I learned how the body moves. I smiled through every workout and cried through every victory. I craved going back each day! It’s in this class where I will become cardiovascular conditioned, be comfortable with the moves again and learn a thing or two about proper form. Plus, I’ll have the best time doing it!
